Temperatures in Grand Forks reached 62 degrees on Tuesday, March 9, a new record high.

The old record was set in 2015 at 58 degrees, according to WDAY StormTracker meteorologist Lydia Blume.

Tuesday probably was the last warm day until the weekend, however, as Grand Forks returns to seasonably cool temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Snow is forecast in northwest Minnesota, but as of Wednesday morning, March 10, the storm is expected to skim to the south of Grand Forks, and no snow accumulation is expected in town.

Crookston and Thief River Falls each are expected to receive less than an inch of snow. Ada and Fosston are expected to receive up to 1 inch of snow, and Bemidji is expected to receive up to 3 inches. A narrow band of heavy snow could drop 3 to 6 inches or more on the area around Wadena, Minn., Wednesday afternoon.

Warm temperatures are expected to return by the weekend. According to WDAY StormTracker, Thursday will be breezy and high temperatures will be in the mid to high 30s through Friday. High temperatures will rise to the high 40s on Saturday and Sunday.
