GREENBUSH, Minn. — A northwest Minnesota school bus driver pulled over for speeding was removed from her route and ticketed for having alcohol in her system, early Wednesday morning, May 15, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. A Minnesota state trooper pulled a school bus over for speeding on County Road 7 in Barto Township, a little more than a mile north of Greenbush, law enforcement officials said.
MANVEL, N.D. —A mother and her son are dead after their vehicle left the road and rolled into the Turtle River near Grand Forks on Wednesday, May 15. A 40-year-old woman and 3-year-old boy were driving near the town of Manvel about 3:15 p.m. when their 2006 Volkswagen Jetta went off the roadway, overturned and came to rest upside down mostly submerged in the river, according to a news release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. — A suspect was on the run from police after an East Grand Forks traffic stop turned into high-speed chase Monday afternoon, May 13. At just after 3 p.m. police attempted to pull over a light brown or gray Dodge Durango from an unspecified year for registration issues, according to the East Grand Forks Police Department. The suspect fled from the stop, leading police on a chase into North Dakota. Just after 4 p.m. police said the suspect had reached Traill County, about 20 miles south of Grand Forks.
MINOT, ND — A man is in jail on a murder charge after his father was found shot to death in northwest Minot. On Saturday, May 11, the Minot Police Department arrested 28-year-old Christopher Vickerman. The arrest happened just one day after officers responded to a call about a shooting and found 55-year-old Mark Vickerman dead with a gunshot wound. The younger Vickerman is charged with class AA felony murder. He will be held at the Ward County Jail as authorities continue their investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week. No motive has been given.
FARGO — Just days after a new survey shows a majority of teachers are afraid of being hurt in their classroom, a paraprofessional is recovering after an attack by a student at a Fargo middle school. Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and Secretary to the Board of Education AnnMarie Campbell confirmed the attack took place on Monday, April 29 at Carl Ben Eielson. Campbell also confirmed the school employee required medical attention, but it is not clear the extent of the injuries.

The Grand Forks Fire Department learned of the fire before 9 p.m. Tuesday after dispatchers got a call from someone driving by the fire.

THIEF RIVER FALLS — A Thief River Falls man suffered life-threatening injuries after rolling his car late Saturday, March 30. According to the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP), the accident happened at around 10:17 p.m. on Highway 75 near Saint Vincent Township in Kittson County. An MSP incident report shows Gabriel Adam Lillestol, 32, was headed northbound when his 2014 Ford Focus veered off the left side of the road and rolled. Lillestol was not wearing his seat belt at the time and alcohol was involved in the accident, according to MSP.
