With this new partnership, students at Defiance College, a private college of about 500 students in Defiance, Ohio, will be able to earn a math degree at Defiance and a civil or electrical engineering degree from UND.
The proposed project, funded by $25 million in bonds, would demolish and replace six buildings on UND’s campus with one new advanced materials processing facility that could better accommodate the renewable energy research conducted by the EERC.
According to the South Dakota Department of Labor, it is projected there will be about 1,100 annual openings for heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers through 2028.
This summer, UND's campus will see the completion of the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration, demolition of residence halls and road construction.
Board members voted unanimously in favor of removing the testing requirement for admission at their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, May 26. The policy will go into effect on Aug. 1, 2023.
In addition to spending, the higher education bill also includes a provision that would require all higher education institutions to include an affirmative consent standard as part of their sexual conduct policies.
