The Stark County Sheriff’s Office and North Dakota Highway Patrol were involved in a high-speed chase Thursday afternoon after three juveniles fled from Home on the Range, a residential facility for troubled youth.
The long-billed curlew is historically important to North Dakota, Game and Fish Department conservation biologist Sandra Johnson said, noting that the bird was mentioned in Theodore Roosevelt’s personal journals.
