YOUTH SOCCER: More than 70 teams to compete in Grand Forks this weekend

If you’re into soccer, this is your weekend.

The Greater Grand Forks Soccer club will host its 2015 tournament this weekend, starting Friday and continuing through Sunday.

More than 70 teams and approximately 1,300 soccer players from North Dakota, Minnesota and Canada will compete in games in numerous divisions at the Bringewatt Park and South Middle School soccer fields.

The U8 through U-12 teams will play at Bringewatt while the U-13 through U-19 teams are scheduled for South.

Competition begins Friday at 6 p.m. The tournament concludes Sunday with championship games from noon to 3 p.m.

Soccer players ages 7 through 19 will compete this weekend.

Last season, the GGFSC U-18 team downed West Fargo to win the tournament title in its division.
