COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The UND women’s hockey team once again managed to score only one goal.
Once again, it also had Shelby Amsley-Benzie on its side.
The junior goalie from Warroad stopped all 31 shots she faced to post her second consecutive 1-0 shutout victory over Ohio State on Saturday.
Amsley-Benzie finished the weekend by stopping 57 of 57 shots. She now has a .945 save percentage and a 1.45 goals against average. Both numbers are on pace to shatter UND’s school record.
Amsley-Benzie has won four consecutive starts for UND (12-10-2 overall, 8-8-2 Western Collegiate Hockey Association), allowing just two goals in that span.

Sophomore defenseman Gracen Hirschy scored a four-on-four goal late in the first period and it stood up as the winner. Leah Jensen, who returned this weekend from an injury, assisted on it, as did Amsley-Benzie.
A night earlier, defenseman Tanja Eisenschmid scored the lone goal for UND in the first period and the goaltender made it stand up.
UND, 8-3-1 in its last 12 games, hosts Bemidji State next weekend in Ralph Engelstad Arena.
