MANKATO, Minn. - Another trip to All Seasons Arena, another strong performance for the UND women’s hockey team.

Meghan Dufault scored three goals, Becca Kohler had three assists and UND blew out Minnesota State-Mankato 5-0 in the team’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association opener Friday night.

UND’s unbeaten streak at All Seasons Arena moved to eight games dating back to 2010.

Dufault scored once on the power play, once at even strength and once shorthanded to lift UND to 2-1 on the season. Gracen Hirschy and Halli Krzyzaniak also scored for UND. Josefine Jakobsen added two assists.

Shelby Amsley-Benzie stopped all 15 shots to earn a shutout. Sophomore Lexie Shaw is expected to start in today’s series finale (3:07 p.m.).

UND scored twice in the span of 1 minute, 19 seconds in the first period to build a 2-0 lead. Dufault scored at 12:38 and Hirschy followed it up with a goal at 13:57.

Krzyzaniak scored her first goal of the year to extend the lead to 3-0 in the second period. Dufault tacked on two more goals in the opening eight minutes of the third period to finish the hat trick.
