Jay Barriball's goal at 7:38 of the third period lifted Minnesota into a 2-2 tie with Ferris State at the Dodge Holiday Classic men's hockey tournament on Saturday.
Barriball deflected a shot from the point past Ferris State goalie Pat Nagle for his 11th goal of the season and 50th of his career. Nagle made four of his 32 saves in overtime for the Bulldogs (9-8-4).
Matthew Kirzinger scored on the power play for a 1-0 Bulldogs lead. Jake Hansen, who assisted on Barriball's goal, tied it for the Gophers (9-8-3) but Ferris State took a 2-1 lead into the third period on Brett Wysopal's goal.
Nagle made a key save with 1:21 left in the overtime, stopping Jacob Cepis from point blank range.
Kent Patterson made 27 saves for the Gophers, one in overtime.

Bemidji State 3, Union 1: Matt Read scored two goals and Jordan George added a goal and an assist as Bemidji State beat Union College on Saturday in the Dodge Holiday Classic.
The Beavers (7-10-1) finished 2-0 at the tournament and improved to 1-2-3 all-time against Union. They beat Ferris State 3-2 on Friday.
Read and Union's Daniel Carr exchanged goals in the first period. George scored the game-winner midway though the second period and Read added an insurance goal at 1:58 of the third.
Minnesota State-Mankato 4, Notre Dame 3: Rylan Galiardi had a goal and an assist and Minnesota State, Mankato goalie Phil Cook made 34 saves as the Mavericks beat host team Notre Dame on Saturday in the first round of the Shillelagh tournament.
Michael Dorr scored the game-winning goal with 23 seconds left as the Mavericks (7-8-4) handed the Fighting Irish (12-7-2) their first loss in the tournament. The Irish had won each of the first two tournament titles.
Cameron Cooper and Evan Mosey gave MSU-M a 2-0 first-period lead.
But the Irish responded with goals by Ben Ryan, Jeff Costello and Calle Ridderwall.
Galiardi tied it a 19:07 of the second period.

Mike Johnson had 23 saves for Notre Dame, which outshot the Mavericks 37-27.
