GRAND FORKS -- Red River senior outside hitter Kaylee Lancaster excels on the volleyball court.

"I think we've all been really good at just taking every day and not taking it for granted, because we don't know when our last day is going to be," Lancaster said.

Off of it, she shines in the classroom.

"In one of my classes, I'm in a special ed. room," Lancaster said. "So I love helping with special ed."

Kaylee’s real passion is with younger students.

"I'm in a class where I get to be in a kindergarten class room everyday," she said.

When Kaylee graduates high school, she wants to go to college so that she can become a teacher.

For her, it’s about seeing students grow.

"Just getting to see the development of those kids also is something I love to do," she said.

She’s narrowed down her college choices between North Dakota State and Concordia.

"I just love helping people and being in my community helping as many people as I can," Lancaster said.
