Jackson was hurt Monday night against the New York Giants, his first start of the season. The Vikings hope Favre will be recovered enough from a sprained sternoclavicular joint to start. If not, the Vikings will turn to Webb, with journeyman Patrick Ramsey, who just signed with Minnesota this week, in relief.
Whichever quarterback plays should benefit from the return of wide receiver Percy Harvin. Frazier said at his press conference today that Harvin was back this morning after missing the last two games with migraines and will play against the Bears.
Frazier said he told Ramsey when the quarterback signed that if Favre can't go, he could be one play away from leading the Vikings, if Webb gets hurt.

"I told him that's a real possibility before we signed him, that you've got to put your mind around this," Frazier said of Ramsey.
Webb will work with the first-team offense as practice for the Vikings resumed for the week today. Webb was the Vikings' sixth-round pick this season who was expected to play wide receiver after playing quarterback at Alabama-Birmingham, but was switched back to quarterback during mini-camp.
He played in relief of Jackson against the Giants and completed two of
five passes for eight yards.
Jackson, a free agent after this season, might have played his last game with the Vikings, who drafted him in the second round in 2006. Frazier said the injuries suffered Monday night would have sidelined him for about four weeks, and considering only three games remain, he needed to go on injured reserve. The Vikings could use his roster spot for Ramsey.
The Vikings also added defensive back Simeon Castille from Alabama to the practice squad.
