The search for UND's next athletic director is now in the hands of UND President Mark Kennedy.
UND search committee head Tom DiLorenzo opted not to hold the committee's final meeting Friday morning, according to school spokesman Peter Johnson, who's also on the committee.
DiLorenzo decided not to meet for the final time, in part, because of the weather forecast and, in part, because the committee had completed the task of seeking applicants and providing finalists, according to Johnson.
"Committee members have the opportunity to share strengths and weaknesses about each candidate with Tom, who will provide feedback to President Kennedy," Johnson said in an email. "President Kennedy attended all of the open forums. He also had one-on-one meetings with the Executive Council (which is his advisory council) this week."
Kennedy will choose from finalists Bill Chaves (Eastern Washington), Kellie Elliott (Texas-San Antonio), Mike Mannausau (UND) and Monty Porter (Western Michigan).

UND announced last October that athletic director Brian Faison, who had been with the school for the past 10 years, would retire.
