Former UND offensive lineman Michael Coe grew up a fan of Emmitt Smith and the Dallas Cowboys.
On Saturday, he agreed to an NFL contract with his childhood team.
At the conclusion of the NFL draft, Coe signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cowboys.
"It was a long day, seeing what was going to happen," Coe said. "I feel like I have a good opportunity in Dallas to make the roster."
Coe and his agent chose between five different teams, opting for the Cowboys because Dallas was searching for depth on the line.

"It's pretty surreal to have NFL teams wanting you," Coe said. "It's a cool feeling, and I'm excited to get after it."
Coe, who is 6-foot-1 and 309 pounds, projects as a center at the pro level. In 2016, Coe was valuable for UND as he played all three offensive line positions.
Coe, who was a graduate transfer to UND from Division II Western New Mexico, was named all-Big Sky Conference on the line and was selected as an All-American.
