MANKATO, Minn. --- The UND women's hockey team, with the highest ranking in program history at No. 6 in the country, has hit its first bump in the road this season.

Minnesota State-Mankato freshman Kathleen Rogan tallied a hat trick to lead the Mavericks to a 4-2 Western Collegiate Hockey Association victory over UND on Friday night in All-Seasons Arena.

Jocelyne Lamoureux and Allison Parizek scored for the Sioux, who had started the season 4-2 against nationally ranked opponents.

But goalie Danielle Butters earned the win in her first collegiate start for the unranked Mavericks.

The Mavericks pick up their first league win of the season to improve to 2-2-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the conference while the Sioux drop to 4-3-0 (3-2-0-0 WCHA).

Lamoureux scored the game's first goal as she rifled a wrist shot beating Butters' glove side at 14 minutes, 33 seconds of the first period.

But Rogan scored eight seconds later. Tracey McCann and Rogan would then bookend Parizek's goal for the victory.

The Sioux finished with a 30-21 advantage in shots on goal and attempted 62 shots compared to Mankato's 32.

The series resumes at 3:07 p.m. today.
