BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Vermont struck early. But the strike didn't hurt.
UND recovered from an early 1-0 deficit and rallied to beat Vermont 4-1 on Friday night in a nonconference women's hockey game. The Sioux improved to 10-7-2, while Vermont dropped to 4-9-8.
Vermont's Celeste Doucet scored one minute into the game but the Sioux managed to tie the game on Monique Lamoureux-Kolls' goal at 8:10 of the first. It was the first of three goals for the sophomore from Grand Forks.
Lamoureux-Kolls and her twin, Jocelyne Lamoureux, accounted for all four goals as Jocelyne Lamoureux picked up the other goal.
Jocelyne Lamoureux's goal at 3:14 of the second was the game-winner. Her sister and Holly Perkins were credited with assists.

Still, the Sioux were up only 2-1 after two periods. But UND dominated statistically. The Sioux outshot the Catamounts 41-13.
UND scored twice in the third period. Lamoureux-Kolls scored at 2:42 and again at 4:54, that goal unassisted to give her the natural hat trick.
Stephanie Ney stopped 12 shots for the Sioux.
The teams wrap up their series this afternoon in Burlington.
