The UND women's basketball team was scheduled to leave Grand Forks on Tuesday to fly to Chicago for the program's season opener at Chicago State.

The Fighting Hawks, however, never made it out of Grand Forks.

UND had one player test positive during its COVID-19 testing, the program learned late Monday night.

Different leagues, states and cities have different rules for how to react to a positive case. Chicago State has elected to cancel the UND game.

The UND women's next scheduled game is at home Sunday at 1 p.m. against Marquette. That game is still on as scheduled as of Tuesday morning, although Marquette and the Big East will likely take a close look at that game.

The UND men's basketball team returned all negative tests and will travel to Miami of Ohio today for a season-opening noon game on Wednesday in Oxford.
