Jeremiah Tiffin has only been at UND since mid-December and already has a big promotion.
UND's associate head coach and recruiting coordinator was announced Wednesday as the next head volleyball coach of the Fighting Hawks.
"Jeremiah did a tremendous job in articulating a vision for UND volleyball through the interview process, and we are looking forward to working with him in making that vision come to fruition," UND athletic director Bill Chaves said. "UND volleyball is in a great foundational place based on the hard work of previous coaching staffs, and I believe that Jeremiah will continue to build on that success."
Tiffin was added to the UND coaching staff in December by previous head coach Mark Pryor, who resigned in late April and has since taken an NCAA Division III coaching job in Texas. Tiffin and Pryor had previously worked together at Baylor.
Tiffin won the job over one other finalist -- Idaho associate head coach Brian Lamppa , who had been a head coach at South Dakota.

Tiffin, 36, describes his coaching style as player-driven.
"We're about making sure the players are getting the best experience," Tiffin said. "You won't see me yelling and screaming from the sideline and players looking beaten down. We've had good, energetic teams that played good floor defense."
As friends for more than a decade, Tiffin said his coaching philosophy is similar to Pryor.
"We'll do a couple different things, whether that's travel or drills, but Mark and I recruit the same type of kid and get along with the same kind of kid," Tiffin said. "This spring has been the best spring I've been a part of. This team has done a 180 from where they left off last season. I think we'll continue down that road."
Tiffin will retain assistant coach Erin Green and Director of Operations Ashley Laidley and will fill the final assistant vacancy, a UND release said.
Tiffin, who grew up in Winnipeg, spent the previous four seasons at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. There, he claimed a Red River Athletic Conference title in each of his four seasons.

Before his time at OLLU, Tiffin served as the recruiting coordinator for Baylor where he helped his alma mater sign two Top 75 recruits during the 2015 season.
Tiffin takes over a UND program that went 117-58 in five seasons under Pryor.
Under Pryor, the Fighting Hawks reached the NCAA Tournament twice, winning the Big Sky Conference tournament in 2016 and 2017.
UND went 26-10 overall in 2016 and Pryor won the league’s coach of the year. In 2017, the Fighting Hawks went 30-8, setting a program record for wins in a season.
Last season, UND had its first sub-.500 record under Pryor, going 14-18 in its first year as a member of the Summit League.
Tiffin is the 13th head coach in UND's 44-year history.
"We're really excited for this," Tiffin said. "Personally, I've worked for a long time, at a few different jobs, to get to a place where my wife and I can be settled and raise a family. We're really excited to step in and do this. We have a great team. The players and staff are phenomenal. We're going to have a lot of fun and that'll translate to wins, as well."
