The UND men’s basketball team will play rival Dakota Division I schools in a three-day event at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., Dec. 10-12.

UND, North Dakota State, South Dakota and South Dakota State will play each other in a round-robin event. The event is called the CU Mortgage Direct Dakota Showcase.

Midco Sports Network will broadcast all games. A limited number of tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Nov. 23 at ticketmaster.com . Tickets are $20 (all fees included) per game. Masks are required for all spectators and will be available for free at the door. The Sanford Pentagon will work closely with the schools and individual states and be ready to adjust based on guidelines and safety measures for all involved.

All of the Dakota Division I schools have had difficulty scheduling nonconference games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coaches agree that this event will help ease that difficulty. The Summit League schedule was released last week.

UND will play the 5:30 p.m. game each night. The Fighting Hawks will open against South Dakota on Dec. 10, then will take on South Dakota State on Dec. 11 and North Dakota State on Dec. 12.

UND is coming off a surprising run to the Summit League championship game last season, one in which the Hawks also had a memorable 75-74 win at Nebraska.

UND returns Filip Rebraca, a pre-season first-team All-Summit League selection as well as its top returning scorer (14.3 ppg) and rebounder (8.9 rpg). UND coach Paul Sather returns to the Sanford Pentagon where he led Northern State to the NCAA DII title game in 2018.

“The challenges we face scheduling non-conference games this year has opened up an opportunity to play some familiar conference rivals in an awesome venue at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls,” said Sather. “There’s a rich history of matchups like these that have taken place going way back in the NCC years.

The round-robin schedule:
