MILWAUKEE-The inexperienced UND men's basketball team passed its first big test on Saturday night.
UND held Milwaukee to 17 first-half points en route to a 63-60 win in non-conference play at the UWM Panther Arena.
The Fighting Hawks were led by Conner Avants' 14 points and seven rebounds.
Cortez Seales (12 points) and Kienan Walter (10 points, seven rebounds) were also in double figures.
UND, which improved to 2-0 for only the third time in the Division I era, didn't have a field goal for the game's final 5:05 of the second half.

UND received some bench help from center Filip Rebraca, a Serbian who missed the first game of the season awaiting NCAA clearance.
Rebraca had four points and eight rebounds in 16 minutes.
The Hawks were just 5-for-18 from the 3-point line. Aanen Moody, who was coming off a team-high 20 points in UND's season opener against Northland College, was 1-for-7 from the 3-point line and ended with five points.
