GRAND FORKS — Matteo Costantini tallied four assists, Riese Gaber two goals and two assists as UND handed St. Cloud State its most lopsided defeat since Feb. 13, 2010, when UND beat the Huskies 8-1 in St. Cloud.

Herald three stars

First star: Matteo Costantini, UND, four assists.
Second star: Riese Gaber, UND, one goal, three assists.
Third star: Jakob Hellsten, UND, 19 saves.

First period

UND 1, St. Cloud State 0 — Connor Ford (Matteo Costantini) 2:53. St. Cloud State attempts to exit the zone up the wall, but Costantini picks off the pass and spots Ford open in the slot. Costantini puts the pass on Ford's tape and the fifth-year senior re-directs the pass five-hole on St. Cloud State goalie David Hrenak. It ends a goal drought of 102:15 for UND.

UND 2, St. Cloud State 0 — Ethan Frisch (Jake Sanderson, Riese Gaber) 15:45. UND's new-look power play immediately pays dividends. UND puts the right-handed shooting Frisch in the left circle to one-time plays from Sanderson and that's exactly what happens. Frisch hammers one past Hrenak for his fourth goal of the season.

UND 3, St. Cloud State 0 — Riese Gaber (Matteo Costantini, Connor Ford) 19:07. Ford starts a two-on-one rush and Costantini executes it perfectly. Skating up the left side, he freezes the goaltender and puts a pass on top of the crease, where Gaber puts it home for his 10th goal of the season.

Second period

UND 4, St. Cloud State 0 — Griffin Ness (Carson Albrecht, Matteo Costantini) 9:27. Husky defenseman Jack Peart turns the puck over in the defensive zone to Costantini, who slips a pass to Albrecht at the bottom of the right circle. Albrecht feeds it to Ness, who hammers his first-career goal past Hrenak. It is the first-career point for Albrecht. Hrenak is pulled after the goal for Jaxon Castor.

UND 4, St. Cloud State 1 — Jami Krannila (Zach Okabe, Spencer Meier) 17:33 (pp). St. Cloud State's top-ranked power play gets on the board as Okabe feeds Krannila in the right circle. Krannila hammers a one-timer in the corner of the net.

UND 5, St. Cloud State 1 — Ashton Calder 4:18 (ps). Calder gets a penalty shot after being hauled down going to the net. He pulls off the Jocelyne Lamoureux move and scores.

UND 6, St. Cloud State 1 — Ashton Calder (Jake Schmaltz, Riese Gaber) 6:00. UND tacks on another one at four-on-four as Schmaltz sends Calder on a rush up the right side, Calder ducks around Husky defender Ondrej Trebal and snaps a shot five-hole on Castor.

UND 7, St. Cloud State 1 — Riese Gaber (Matteo Costantini) 11:58. Costantini walks one to the net and Gaber puts home the rebound. It's the fourth point of the night for both of them.
