GRAND FORKS — Miami defenseman Jack Clement scored the game-winning goal with 5:26 left in the third period to lift the RedHawks to a 4-3 victory and a series split.

Herald three stars

First star: John Waldron, Miami, 1 goal, 1 assist.
Second star: Matthew Barbolini, Miami, 1 goal, 1 assist.
Third star: Jackson Blake, UND, 1 goal, 1 assist.

First period

Miami 1, UND 0 — John Waldron (Matthew Barbolini) 5:51. Miami takes its first lead of the weekend when Barbolini carries the puck in the zone on the rush and dishes to Waldron in the middle. Waldron walks around UND defender Brent Johnson and picks the corner of the net for his second collegiate goal.

Miami 2, UND 0 — Matthew Barbolini (Axel Kumlin, John Waldron) 17:11 (pp). The RedHawks, who didn't attempt a shot on any of their three power plays Friday, score on their first chance Saturday. Kumlin hammers a point shot, DeRidder leaves a rebound and Barbolini picks it up and fires a backhand for a 2-0 RedHawks lead.

Second period

Miami 3, UND 0 — Blake Mesenburg (Jack Olmstead, Alex Murray) 5:33. UND has possession of the puck in the neutral zone, fails to get it deep and it comes back and burns them. Olmstead flutters a shot off the post and Mesenburg is there to pound home the rebound for his second goal of the weekend. UND starter Drew DeRidder is pulled after the goal for Jakob Hellsten.

Miami 3, UND 1 — Riese Gaber (Chris Jandric, Jackson Blake) 15:37 (pp). UND continues its streak of scoring on the power play in every game this season. Gaber has the puck between the dots and snaps one through a Louis Jamernik V screen for his ninth goal of the season.

Miami 3, UND 2 — Gavin Hain (Ryan Sidorski, Louis Jamernik V) 17:39. UND makes it a one-goal game when Jamernik V digs a puck off the wall and hits an open Sidorski at the top to start a scoring chance. Sidorski holds the puck until Hain gets in front for traffic, then snaps a shot on net. Hain fights off a check and pounces on the rebound for his seventh goal of the season.

Third period

Miami 3, UND 3 — Jackson Blake (Riese Gaber, Ryan Sidorski) 5:06. UND ties it up on an unbelievable shift by Blake. First, he makes a creative play to take two guys with him, then leave a pass for Gaber for a chance. Those two come back in the zone again, Gaber fights off a check and leaves a pass for Blake, who snaps one past Persson's blocker. It's Blake's third goal of the weekend.

Miami 4, UND 3 — Jack Clement 14:34. Miami scores on its second shot of the period. Clement picks the puck from Jamernik V and beats Jakob Hellsten glove side from the side of the crease to give Miami the lead.
