UND Hockey Blog: UND men, women set APR records

Both the UND men's and women's hockey teams achieved program records for APR (academic progress rate) scores this year. The formula tracks grades, progress toward degrees and graduation rates.

Both the UND men’s and women’s hockey teams achieved program records for APR (academic progress rate) scores this year. The formula tracks grades, progress toward degrees and graduation rates.

The UND men’s hockey team, which went to the Frozen Four for a second consecutive season and for the seventh time in 11 years, had a program record 994, while the women’s team scored a 989.

Athletic director  Brian Faison places emphasis on academics with his coaches. UND men’s coach  Dave Hakstol earns a bonus if the team scores above 975 on its APR. For the team’s performance this season, will earn a $12,730.80 bonus (4 percent of base salary).

College hockey had the highest APR score of any men’s sport.
