THE CALL Tom
UND 45, MVSU 14: A team that didn’t rush for positive yards in 2017 is just the right opponent for a UND team trying to get back to stuffing the ground game.
NDSU 42, Cal Poly 10: Cal Poly’s triple option attack might overwhelm some finesse Big Sky opponents, but you’re not going to run over the Bison.
Iowa State 31, South Dakota State 17: Iowa State is an improved program, and the Jacks are going to take some time to learn to play without 2017 studs Jake Wieneke and Dallas Goedert.
Kansas State 48, South Dakota 14: The Yotes will have an adjustment without all-everything QB Chris Streveler now in the CFL.
Montana 28, Northern Iowa 21: UNI might end up having the better year of these two, but I’ve seen plenty of things that make sense on paper get blown up in the hostile environment in Missoula.
Wayne
UND 38, MVSU 10: After last season, UND needs to show its fan base this will be a different year.
NDSU 42, Cal Poly 14: Sorry, FCS programs. Not much changes for the Bison again this season.
Iowa State 27, South Dakota State 13: SDSU will hang around.
Kansas State 41, South Dakota 20: Coyotes have new QB. And he’s facing a Big 12 opponent.
Montana 27, Northern Iowa 20: Washington-Grizzly Stadium is worth at least seven points to Montana against any opponent.
