One of UND’s top scorers of all time is headed overseas to play pro basketball.
Troy Huff has signed to play next season with Mobyt Ferrara in the Italian league, according to an announcement on the team’s website.
The announcement did not have any details of Huff’s contract.

Huff, UND’s third all-time leading scorer with 2,005 points, was a unanimous first-team, all-Big Sky selection each of the last two seasons. He helped UND to a runner-up finish in the Big Sky Conference postseason tournament, one win away from getting UND to the NCAAs for the first time.
After the end of the season, Huff was selected to Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, an event that showcases the country’s top 64 college seniors in front of scouts and executives from all 32 NBA teams.
Huff, a Wisconsin native, was UND’s first Portsmouth invitee since Jerome Beasley in 2003. Beasley went on to get drafted by the Miami Heat in the second round.
“I thought he played extremely well,” UND coach Brian Jones told the Herald in April. “He did a good job representing himself and our program.
“If not the NBA, he’ll have opportunities overseas. That’s the great thing about the PIT. There are scouts from the NBA, the D League and overseas markets. He’ll have choices both here and over there. It’ll be up to him to choose the best path for him.”
Mobyt Ferrara plays in A2 Silver, the second Italian league. They had two American players on their roster last season - former Clemson player Milton Jennings and former Kentucky player Julius Mays. Both started for the team.
The team’s release says Huff’s athleticism and explosiveness are strengths.
Huff played four seasons at UND, leading the team in scoring all four years.
