Sacred Heart coach Destry Sterkel: “Tonight was our third game in five nights and all on the road against three good teams in the 8A east subsection. We had to dig deep and find a way tonight and the entire team did that. Landen and Zach both played well inside for us and then our guards really played well. Ethan, Kobe, and Sam all had great games. They tied the game with 10 seconds left. What we drew up wasn’t going to work and we let Josiah take control. He got downhill and made the defense sink in and made a pass to Isaac Zavoral who was down and ready. He knocked it down and got the boys the win.”

Minot High (No. 2 West) vs. Fargo Davies (No. 3 East)

Grand Forks Central coach Jeff Welsh said: “We had a really tough opening round today, going 1-15. The guys really turned it on in the next three rounds. We were able to get four wrestlers through the blood round and into the placing matches tomorrow. Now our goal is to get them as high on the podium as we can.”

Grand Forks coach Brent Newman said: We had a really good final dual for the season here at home tonight. Numerous athletes on the team reached some of their personal goals involving reaching either State qualifying times or EDC qualifying times. In the coming week we will be focused on fine tuning things for both the EDC and State competitions as we try to get a few last minute qualifiers into that final meet.”
