Graeme Harrington, UND's third-string goalie, has decided to transfer to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology after one year in Grand Forks.

Harrington only dressed for two or three games and didn't play at all.

The Saskatchewan native said there were various reasons for his decision to leave UND, but didn't get into specifics.

"I enjoyed it a lot," he said. "It was a pretty cool experience and something I'm glad I had the opportunity to do."

Harrington was at UND as a recruited walk-on. He wasn't expected to play much early in his career, but coach Dave Hakstol said he hoped Harrington would be pushing for playing time down the road.

Harrington would have backed up sophomore-to-be Brad Eidsness and incoming freshman Aaron Dell this upcoming season. UND will likely recruit a third goaltender now for this fall.
