UND suffers first loss: ATLANTA-Georgia Tech, after upsetting 17th-ranked Michigan State a night earlier, handed UND its first loss of the season with a 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 win Sunday afternoon.
UND had played four matches in Oxford, Miss., the past two days-two of them going five sets-before boarding a bus and making the five-hour trip to Atlanta on Saturday night.
"This was by far the best team we've played," said UND coach Mark Pryor. "They were definitely on an emotional high from beating No. 17 Michigan State. The first set they really jumped on us and made a good run in the middle of the set, and then it was just side out ball to finish, and we couldn't get enough stops."
Sophomore Ashley Brueggeman paced the UND offense with nine kills while Tamara Merseli and Faith Dooley each notched eight finishes. Senior Sydney Griffin had 30 assists to propel her past the 3,000 career assist mark, just the fifth UND player to reach that plateau.

UND drops game to Auburn: AUBURN, Ala.-Kristen Dodson scored two second half goals to lead Auburn to a 2-0 win over UND on Sunday.
Catherine Klein came up with 12 saves in net for UND.
UND will host Omaha on Friday.
