At age 50, Steve Johnson was still setting hockey records at UND.
The former national champion forward, Hrkac Circus line member and Hobey Baker Award finalist added another distinction to his storied hockey career last spring.
When UND won the NCAA national championship, he and his son, Luke, became the first father-son combination, at any school, to both win NCAA national titles.
On Wednesday, Johnson achieved yet another feat as he was named to the UND Athletics Hall of Fame.
Johnson will be inducted along with volleyball player Mary Dempster (1976-77), track and field athlete Robert Fransen (1973-77), football player Tracy Martin (1984-86) and the 1992 women's cross country team.

The Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony will be held Oct. 6 and the class will be introduced during the Homecoming football game between UND and Northern Colorado the following day.
"This year's inductees accomplished amazing athletic feats during their time at UND and the Letterwinners Association is happy to recognize and celebrate those athletes and their successes at this year's Hall of Fame banquet," said Jessica Sobolik, a former UND track and field letterwinner and the president of the UND Letterwinners Association.
Johnson won a state high school championship with Grand Forks Central before arriving at UND as a freshman in 1984.
He tallied eight points as a freshman and 28 as a sophomore before having a breakout season with the famed 1986-87 Hrkac Circus team.
Johnson played on a line with Hobey Baker winner Tony Hrkac and Bob Joyce for much of that season, helping UND to a Western Collegiate Hockey Association MacNaughton Cup and the national championship.
Johnson had 70 points as a junior, then tallied 85 as a senior after Joyce and Hrkac left. He finished with 191 in his career, seventh-most all-time at UND.
Johnson played professionally for a couple of years before joining the coaching ranks. He served as head coach for the Fargo-Moorhead Bears for one year, the Lincoln Stars for 10 years and the Fargo Force for one year.
He also had assistant-coaching stints with St. Cloud State and Omaha.

Dempster played on the first two UND volleyball teams after transferring from City College in Vancouver. She played at the 1976 Olympic Games for Canada and earned all-conference honors at UND.
Fransen was a two-time All-American in the high jump, winning two North Central Conference titles and finishing in the top six nationally. He held UND's high jump records for two decades after he graduated.
Martin graduated as UND's all-time record holder in touchdowns receptions with 19 (it has since been broken). He was a first-time all-NCC selection as a senior.
The 1982 women's cross country team won the first NCC title in program history and placed fourth nationally.
