Hey NoDak fans! So last weekend we swept Bemidji at home for our last regular season home game at the Ralph beating the Beavers by scores of 5-2 and 3-1. Overall it was a good weekend for our team.
The Beavers were 0-18 on the power play, our penalty kill was solid and our power play capitalized when we needed them to.
It was not only a successful weekend but also a confidence booster getting the sweep. Wisconsin was the only team to sweep Bemidji all year until last weekend, but we also needed the six points to help secure our third place spot in the WCHA.
As I mentioned last week it was senior weekend, and to sweep at home on senior weekend in front of all of our friends, families and fans is how it should be. It was special. Thank you to everyone who came out last weekend to support our team! We are very happy with how we ended the regular season at home but we are not stopping there.
This weekend we are on the road to play Minnesota State-Mankato and our only focus is to come home with another six points under our belts. Every weekend is a big weekend for us, especially in our league.

Last season we lost some games that cost us to get into the NCAA tournament so we are out for revenge to secure, not only home ice advantage for first round of the WCHA playoffs but also our place in the national tournament - including games against the Mavericks.
The bus trip to Mankato is the longest one we have all year. It is a six-hour trip, one way, which gives us lots of time for movies, homework and of course team bonding.
We left Thursday morning, but got a good skate and practice in before loading the bus and hitting the road. Once we get to Mankato we will drop our gear off at the rink, and go out to dinner.
Thursday's at the end of practice, we always have a shootout competition, and when we are on the road the winner of the shootout gets dessert at dinner. This week's winner was senior defenseman Ashley Holmes. We always work hard but have fun doing it during our practices, especially towards the end of the week. It keeps the mood light and enjoyable for everyone.
Once again, this weekend is crucial and we cannot afford to lose any games versus Mankato. Our game times are Friday at 7:07 p.m. and Saturday at 3:07 p.m.
