Bismarck High freshman forward Brandon Giesler scored 2 minutes, 45 seconds into overtime to lift the Demons to a 3-2 win over Grafton-Park River on Friday in the consolation semifinals of the Herald Jason Stadstad Hockey Classic at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
The Demons advance to today's fifth-place game against Bismarck Century. Grafton-Park River will play Princeton in the seventh-place game.
Demons goalie Brett Malkmus stopped 33 shots as Grafton-Park River outshot Bismarck 35-19.
The Spoilers led twice, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Ryan Dusek and a 2-1 lead on a second-period goal by Austin Campbell.
The Demons, however, stuck around with a first-period goal from Cooper Cox and Mike Hausauer's third-period goal at 8:03 of the frame sent the game into overtime.

Bismarck Century 4, Princeton 1: Logan Rauhauser's goal and assist led Bismarck Century to a victory over Princeton in the consolation semifinals.
Nick Bohrer, Noah Larson and Tanner Megal also scored for the Patriots, who outshot Princeton 41-22.
Princeton goalie Ryan Carlson stopped all 14 shots he faced in the first period, but Bohrer and Larson scored 46 seconds apart in the second period as the Patriots pulled away.
Jordan Forschen scored Princeton's lone goal.
Century faces Bismarck High in the fifth-place game at 12:45 p.m. at the Olympic arena. Princeton takes on Grafton-Park River at 10:30 a.m. in the seventh-place game at the Olympic arena.
