St. Cloud State forward Aaron Marvin has been suspended for tonight's series finale against UND after his illegal hit from behind during Friday night's game.
With 2 minutes, 33 seconds remaining in the second period Friday night, Marvin checked UND captain Chay Genoway into the boards from behind. Genoway was slow getting up and was helped off of the ice by trainer Mark Poolman. Genoway did not return.
UND won the game 4-2.
Marvin was given an five-minute major for checking from behind along with a game misconduct. That penalty has not been changed. Marvin, a Warroad, Minn., product, was given the suspension under the league's supplementary discipline.
The extent of Genoway's injury was unclear immediately after the game, UND coach Dave Hakstol said.
