WILLISTON, N.D. -- Grand Forks Red River's speed was too much for Williston.
The Roughriders ran for 285 yards en route to a 42-12 win over Williston on Friday.
The Red River rushing attack was paced by Tyler Gefroh's 167 yards on 24 carries. Gefroh had touchdown runs of 57 and 8 yards.
The Riders took a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and held a 28-6 lead at halftime.
Elby Pope caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Sam King to open the scoring less than two minutes into the game.

Almost a minute later, Gefroh scored from 57 yards out.
"We had a lot of big plays," Red River coach Vyrn Muir said. "The speed was the biggest factor. We had guys running by people."
The Riders improved to 3-1, while Williston dropped to 1-3.
Red River faces Grand Forks Central next Friday in the Cushman Classic.
Kaleb Barstad's 101 rushing yards and Alex Hanson's 117 passing yards paced Williston.
