Troy Huff's professional basketball career has the former UND standout headed back overseas.
Huff, 24, has signed with betFIRST Liege Basket in the Belgium-Scooore League.
Huff, who is currently working out in Minneapolis, will leave for Belgium in late August.
"I'm really excited to get out there and go to a new country," Huff said.
Huff's last pro gig was with the Erie BayHawks (Penn.) of the NBDL, where he spent half a season last year.
The 6-foot-5, athletic Huff played in just seven games in Erie, finishing with an average of 3.9 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. He averaged 13.6 minutes per game.
Prior to his stint in the NBDL, Huff played with Mobyt Ferrara of the Italian A2 Silver League. Huff spent nine months in Italy.
"I liked it in Italy," Huff said. "It was my first time out of the country, so everything was pretty new to me. I learned a lot about basketball and grew from it."
Huff said the European style of basketball differs greatly from the U.S.
"The game is much slower there so you have to slow it down and play smart," Huff said.
Huff connected with his new opportunity in Belgium via his agent.
"He said it would be a good fit, and he knows a lot about the game over there," Huff said. "I just want to play at the highest level I can. I want to take it as far as I can and play as long as I can as long as I still have my youth and my health. I'm definitely excited."
Huff's new team in Belgium also recently signed former Montana State point guard Marcus Colbert.
Huff, a Milwaukee native, capped a four-year run at UND in 2014. He finished his career third on the all-time scoring charts with 2,005 points.
Huff also earned Lou Henson Mid-Major All-American honors as a junior and senior.
