Three from area land on North Dakota Class B all-state volleyball team

Region 2 winner Thompson places seniors Summer Hegg and Jordan West on the all-state team, while Langdon-Edmore-Munich junior Cora Badding was also selected.

GRAND FORKS — Fresh off a third-place finish at the North Dakota state Class B volleyball tournament, Thompson has landed two players on the all-state team, which was released Tuesday.

Thompson's picks were seniors Summer Hegg and Jordan West.

West, a libero who played 119 sets this season, finished the year with 630 digs and 64 aces with a 93 percent serving percentage.

Hegg, who played in 99 sets as she battled an injury midseason, ended with 379 kills with 78.5 blocks. She also had a 95 percent serving percentage.

The other area selection was Langdon-Edmore-Munich junior Cora Badding.


Badding finished with an unbelievable 628 kills this season to go along with a kill efficiency of .370. She had 58 blocks, 90 service aces and 387 digs.

For her career, Badding has 1,125 kills, 105 blocks, 120 aces and 570 digs.

ShayLee Bosch of Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock was named the outstanding senior athlete, while Jaime Richter of LHMB was selected as the coach of the year.
