Three from area highlight North Dakota Class B all-state volleyball team

Langdon-Edmore-Munich's Morgan Freije, Thompson's Bailey Munson and North Star's Danielle Hagler were each named to the all-state team.

Three from the area were named to the North Dakota Class B all-state volleyball team, which was released this week by the North Dakota High School Coaches Association.

Langdon-Edmore-Munich's Morgan Freije, Thompson's Bailey Munson and North Star's Danielle Hagler were each named to the all-state team.

Freije and Hagler were repeat all-state selections.

Freije, who's committed to play volleyball at Valley City State, had 647 kills this season. She also added 475 digs, 99 aces and 78 blocks for the Cardinals, who finished fifth at the state tournament after winning Region 4.

Hagler, a 5-11 senior middle hitter, ended the year with 751 kills, 450 digs and 39 aces for the Bearcats, who were one of the top teams in the state all season before falling to Langdon-Edmore-Munich in the Region 4 tournament.

Munson, a 5-5 senior libero, finished the season with 585 digs as the Tommies took third place at the state tournament. The three-year regular and two-year starter added 32 aces and has more than 1,100 career digs.
