WAHPETON, N.D. -- Grand Forks Central's Erik Jones beat teammate T.J. Poole in the finals at 160 pounds Saturday at the Dan Unruh Invitational. Jones pinned Poole in 3:51.
"The Jones-Poole final was basically even and then Erik hit a throw at the end of the second period," Central coach Matt Berglund said. "It was not easy to watch two good friends battle it out, but they both handled it well."
Central received a third-place finish from Bryce Fish at 152. Fish was seeded sixth in the weight class.
West Fargo won the meet with 226 points. Central finished 12th with 59.5 points.
Devils Lake's Jacob Lagasse captured the 285-pound division by pinning Justin Behrend of Brookings, S.D., in 3 minutes.
