FARGO -- Grand Forks Red River broke open a close game with two fourth-quarter touchdowns here Friday en route to a 27-13 high school football win against Fargo North.
Red River led 14-6 entering the final quarter. But an A.J. Johnstone 4-yard touchdown run and a 30-yard scoring pass from Sam King to Elby Pope increased the lead to 27-7.

Taylor Bosch hooked up with Adam Amundson for a 9-yard score to pull the Spartans within 7-6 after one quarter, and it stayed that way until Adam Cook returned a fumble 37 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. Waind's kick made it 14-6.
North also scored late in the game on a 41-yard pass from Bosch to Cody Strom.
Red River improved to 3-1 in the East Region and 6-2 overall. North dropped to 1-3 and 1-7.
