FOSSTON, Minn. - Aaron Arneson threw a pair of touchdown passes as Fosston defeated Polk County West 35-14 in the Section 8A quarterfinals on Tuesday night.
Fosston only led by a touchdown after the first quarter, but turned it on in the second quarter by scoring 21 points and giving the Greyhounds a 28-0 lead at halftime.
“We had a slow start,” said Polk County West coach Darrin Byklum. “We dug ourselves too big of a hole to get out of.”
Cole Nelson rushed for 76 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns to lead the Fosston ground attack. Sam Manecke also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown for the Greyhounds.

Devin Evavold and Eddie Bushaw each scored touchdowns for Polk County West on runs of 2 and 7 yards, respectively.
Polk County West ended its season at 2-6 overall.
