LANCASTER, Minn. -- Kittson County Central amassed 539 yards in total offense today in handing East Grand Forks Sacred Heart a 40-14 defeat in 9-man high school football.
"That's an above-average game for us," Kittson County Central coach Cory Waling said. "Our offense was going pretty well."
The Bearcats were efficient whether running or throwing the ball.
Zach Rynning was 12-of-25 passing for 198 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite target, Derek Coffield, had six catches for 84 yards.
Coffield also rushing for 80 yards. He had a pair of touchdowns, one on the ground and one receiving. Leading rusher Kyle Petersburg gained 135 yards, scoring once.

J.P. Mortenson also had two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving, for the 5-2 Bearcats.
"We did a good job of spreading the ball around," Waling said. "Zach made some good reads, some pretty sharp audibles, and he was very accurate. And our offensive line did a very good job."
Sacred Heart's top threat was Michael Pietruszewski, who rushed for 27 yards and was 5-of-10 passing for 88 yards. He threw a pair of touchdown passes -- 17 yards to Daniel Ewens and 25 yards to Alex Vanyo. Corey Roach had 85 yards rushing to pace the Eagles.
