CROOKSTON -- Casey Fugleberg had a hat trick and Josh Gilbertson had four points (goal, three assists) to lead Grand Forks Red River to a blowout win over Crookston on Thursday.
Jon Lizotte added a goal and two assists, while Hunter Spicer a goal and one assist for the 4-0 Roughriders. In net, Roeder Camrud stopped all 13 Pirate shots.

"It was a good all-around effort," Red River coach Bill Chase said. "All three lines were flying. We were clicking. And Roeder Camrud did a good job in net. He was absolutely steady back there."

Grand Forks Central miscues turned into a Fargo North win Thursday night in Fargo.
"We made some mistakes that cost us," Knights coach Tony Bina said. "North is a good hockey team and they will make you pay for those mistakes."
Spartan sophomore Jackson Graalum and senior Zach Kraft had big games, recording two goals and three assists each. Goalie Nick Schmit stopped 25 shots for North.
Alex Torrey and Blake Zabinski found the back of the net for Central, which will host East Grand Forks Senior High on Tuesday in Gambucci Cup play.

Northern Freeze 63,
Sacred Heart 49
Tori Davidson had a game-high 20 points to lead Northern Freeze to a road win over East Grand Forks Sacred Heart.
Allyson Dahl added 11 points for the Freeze, while Madi Thompson and Arianna Anderson each had eight.
"They have a real good team," Sacred Heart coach JoAnn Remer said. "We didn't play very good defense in the first half and we had to try to fight our way back."
Amanda Goddin led Sacred Heart with 13 points, while Stacy Remer added 12 for the Eagles.

A second half change of defensive strategy paid off for Grand Forks Red River in its victory over Devils Lake.
"We switched into a zone and made some steals and that got us some easy baskets," Roughriders coach Kent Ripplinger said. "We got some good energy from that."
Ellie Ripplinger led the offensive attack in the second half, scoring 14 of her 16 points after halftime. Ashley Knecht paced Red River with 18 total points.
Devils Lake's Sarah Schafer led all scorers with 20 points.

DEVILS LAKE -- Grand Forks Red River took care of business on the boards en route to its road win.

Mack Arvidson recorded a double double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the Roughriders (3-0). Teammate Ricky Farroh added 16 points and eight rebounds.
"You want to come out and get a 'W' on the road, and we did that," Red River coach Jason Gregory said.
Devils Lake was led by Chase Johnson (16 points) and Nathan Mertens (15 points).

n Boys swimming: The North Dakota High School Activities Association board of directors Thursday reassigned the 2012 boys state swimming and diving meet to Mandan on March 2-3. The event originally was scheduled for Jamestown but capacity became an issue. Jamestown's maximum seating is 525. At the 2011 meet in Grand Forks, attendance reached 787.
n Boys swimming: Fargo South used first-place finishes in 11 of 12 events to beat Grand Forks 101-82 in Fargo on Thursday. The lone Grand Forks first came in the 400 freestyle relay. The KnightRider swimmers in that relay were Daniel Todorovic, Jacob McCowan, Chris Kjenstad and Keelan Murphy.
n Boys basketball: Red Lake County had three players in double figures during its 51-46 home win against East Grand Forks Sacred Heart. Ben Hagl had 13 points, Tyler Hurst added 12 and Matt Schindler 11 for Red Lake County, which built a 12-point lead in the first half. Zac Kuznia led Sacred Heart with a game-high 18 points.
