Brianna Schumacher scored the other Knights goal in the final minute of regulation. Despite the win, the Knights fall short of state tournament contention, ending the season 7-11.

“I thought our girls played really well tonight,” said Central coach George DuBois. “I thought we did well getting past some crazy setbacks and focusing on a strong finish.”

West Fargo, on the other hand, will make an appearance in next week’s state tournament as the No. 4 seed from the EDC.

Fargo North 1

Two second-half goals sparked Fargo North to a 2-1 victory of Grand Forks Red River in East Region play on Tuesday.

Molly Sarafolean and Abby Naseth were the goal-scorers for the Spartans, who will play in next week’s state tournament. Abby Schauer scored her first career varsity goal, as well the Roughriders lone goal on the night.

“Our back line kept us in the game,” said Red River coach Kathy Meagher. “Fargo North played more offensively than we did in the second half”.
