Brook Story scored two goals and added an assist to lead visiting Warroad over East Grand Forks Senior High on Thursday night.

Lisa Marvin scored a goal and had two assists for the Warriors.

"They're just a very, very good team," Senior High coach Jim Scanlan said. "They've got a bunch of girls that can score and they put a lot of pressure on you.

"They're the No. 1 ranked team in the state and they showed why tonight."

Tamara Twite made 35 saves for the Green Wave, who dropped to 4-3 overall and will host Lake of the Woods on Saturday.

Boys hockey

GF Red River 9, Fargo Shanley 1

FARGO -- Casey Fugleberg scored three goals and assisted on three others to lead Grand Forks Red River to a rout of Fargo Shanley on Thursday night.

Jake LaDouceur added a goal and four assists and six other Roughriders recorded a point.

Red River took a 4-0 lead after the first period, before going scoreless in the second period and allowing Bronson Jesme to score Shanley's lone goal.

"We had huge intensity in the first period, got a little overconfident and flat in the second and picked it back up in the third," Red River coach Bill Chase said. "Fugleberg played at another level. He went so hard and fast. Him, LaDouceur and (Blake) Holien really played well as a line."

Holien scored two goals and added two assists, while Alan Zahui had a goal and an assist, Chris Waind a goal and two assists, Matt Verke a goal, Brock Dahl two assists and Josh Gilberston one assist.

Girls basketball

Senior High 67, TRF 54

THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Brooke Greenwood had 11 points, eight rebounds and eight steals to lead East Grand Forks Senior High to a road win over Thief River Falls on Thursday night.

Chelsey Frydenlund added a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Green Wave, who improved to 2-0. Kate Warmack also was in double digits with 15 points.

"Brooke played really well," Senior High coach Durene Frydenlund said. "She had a nice overall game. It was an ugly, hard-fought game from the tip-off. Partway through the second half, we stepped up and did what we needed to do to win."

Hailey Peterson (18) and Ashley Boen (13) were in double figures for Thief River Falls.

- Girls basketball: Jessica Henningsgard scored a game-high 34 points to lead Central Valley over visiting East Grand Forks Sacred Heart 76-43 on Thursday night. Central Valley, which led 43-23 at halftime, received 12 points from Andra Lenz and 10 points from Taylor Henningsgard. Sacred Heart was led by Jessica Fontes' 18 points.

- Boys hockey: Adam Knochenmus had a hat trick while Cole Kostrzewski and Kevin Erickson each added two goals in Roseau's 12-2 rout of visiting East Grand Forks Senior High on Thursday. Roseau, which has scored 21 goals in its last two games, improved to 3-1.
