FARGO -- Alivia Fraase had 17 kills, a block and an ace to lead Fargo Shanley to a 25-12, 25-16, 17-25, 25-11 victory over Grand Forks Central in the first round of the North Dakota East Region tournament.
Bethany Sandy added 11 kills and Alex Sweeney and Jessica Anderson each chipped in eight kills for the Deacons.
Kaylyn Selle led the Knights with nine kills and two blocks.

"We struggled, as a team, to put together offense and defense today," Central coach Missy Miedema said. "We had a strong night in serve receive, but we struggled blocking and hitting. We need to put both sides of the game together."
The Knights will play Wahpeton in a loser-out match Friday in West Fargo.
