West Fargo senior Anthony Nichols was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a walk to help the Packers to a win over Grand Forks Red River in the third-place game of the North Dakota state Class A tournament on Saturday.
Senior Matt Hewitt struck out three batters in the complete-game effort for the Packers.
Logan Montgomery and Ty Straus each had a hit to lead the Roughriders.

MANDAN, N.D. - Jess Suda, Charles Thompson and Cody Kingsbury each had a pair of hits to lead Grafton to a win in the third-place game of the North Dakota state Class B tournament on Saturday.

Leading 4-3 through three innings, the Spoilers pulled away with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Velva/Drake was paced by two hits each from Shad Vedaa and Marcus Mack.
Jaron Lunday picked up the win for Grafton, which survived six errors in the field.

DICKINSON, N.D. - A few crooked innings helped Fargo Shanley beat Grand Forks Central in six innings in the seventh-place game of the North Dakota state Class A tournament on Saturday.
The Deacons scored five in the second inning, three in the third and four in the sixth.
Lauren Rotunda, Gabby Nelson and Abby Dusek all scored three times, and the Knights could never recover.

Stephanie McWilliams scored twice from the leadoff spot for the Knights.
