Pequot Lakes pulls away from East Grand Forks in second half

PEQUOT LAKES, Minn. -- Pequot Lakes' Zach Jorgens ran for 205 yards and Cale Wolf threw for 376 yards and four touchdowns as Pequot Lakes won a high-scoring shootout 47-34 with East Grand Forks Senior High on Friday night.

After falling behind 21-7 in the first quarter, East Grand Forks was able to tie the score at 34 by halftime with a huge second quarter.

The Green Wave scored four times in the second. Sam Votava hit Nathan Willett on a 27-yard touchdown pass and a 9-yard pass to Julian Benson.

Carter Vasek scored on a 22-yard run for the Wave, who also received a 5-yard touchdown run from Benson in the frame.

Votava finished with 127 rushing yards and 173 passing yards. He also scored on an interception return.

But Pequot Lakes scored a third-quarter touchdown on a Nick Kotaska 6-yard run. In the fourth quarter, Bode Magnuson scored on an 80-yard pass from Wolf.
