Outdoors events remain few and far between as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, but a few events are beginning to surface across the region. Park vehicle passes are required for all events at North Dakota and Minnesota state parks. Vehicle passes are $7 daily and $35 annually in both states.

  • June 27: Trail Trekkers Summer Fun Hike, 10 a.m., Turtle River State Park, 3084 Park Ave., Arvilla, N.D. Info: (701) 795-3180

  • Aug. 22: Lake Bronson Adventure Race, 9 a.m., Lake Bronson State Park, Minn. Two- or three-person teams will compete in a 2- to 3-hour race consisting of canoeing (0-1.5 miles), biking (5 to 10 miles) and trekking (2 to 4 miles). Registration: $75 per team through June 30, $100 per team through July 31 and $125 after July 31; limited to 40 teams. Registration will close at 11 p.m. July 19 or once the race is full.   • Aug. 8-9: Catfish Capital Challenge (formerly known as the Rod & Reel Rally), Red River near Drayton, N.D. Fishing hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Event is sold out, but daily weigh-ins are scheduled at the Hastings Landing tournament headquarters. In addition, a citywide rummage sale is set for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a dance will begin at 9 p.m. on Aug. 8, both events in downtown Drayton. Info: catfishdrayton.com.
