Trophy Room: Zac Bernier sturgeon

Zac Bernier of Grand Forks released this 54½-inch sturgeon Friday, May 10, in Four-Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River.

Zac Bernier of Grand Forks released this 54½-inch sturgeon Friday, May 10, in Four-Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River and says he now can check sturgeon off his big-fish bucket list.

“They are strong,” Bernier writes. “Even with heavy gear they are tough to bring in. It definitely takes a lot out of you, but that makes catching it that much better. It was a lot of fun because you never know how big they could be.”

If you've got a big fish photo you'd like to share with Herald readers, send it to Brad Dokken at bdokken@gfherald.com or by postal mail to Dokken c/o The Grand Forks Herald, 375 Second Ave. N. Box 6008, Grand Forks ND 58203. Please indicate the size of the fish, where it was caught and whether it was kept or released.
