The team of Zach Srnsky and Henry Gutierrez took first place in the Drayton Rod and Reel Rally Catfishing Tournament, held Saturday, Aug. 10 and Sunday Aug. 11 on the Red River in Drayton, N.D.

Hastings Landing Recreation Area was tournament headquarters.

Srnsky and Gutierrez weighed in eight catfish for a cumulative weight of 85.09 pounds during the two-day tournament. Teams could weigh in two catfish longer than 24 inches and two catfish less than 24 inches each day.

The tournament was set up with Group A and Group B divisions, and teams could enter one or both categories. The Group A division had a $200 entry fee with higher payouts, and the Group B division had a $100 entry fee with smaller payouts.

Or, teams could pay $300 and compete in both divisions and the opportunity to win payouts in both divisions.

Srnsky and Gutierrez won both divisions. All but three of the 22 participating teams competed in both categories, tournament director Brad Durick said. Essentially, he said, the format created two tournaments running simultaneously.

Placing second and third in both divisions were Brandon Lunski and Jensen Bauer, with a two-day total of 80.62 pounds; and Jimmy Sandbeck and Jayden Sandbeck, with 77.72 pounds.
