Hudson Lochner, 7, and his dad, Scott, of Rogers, Minn., were fishing Lake of the Woods out of Cyrus Resort on Friday, July 5, when Hudson said he wanted to catch a big fish.
Turns out he ended up catching and releasing two big walleyes.
“He first caught a 27-inch and released it and then he hooked into this fish in the picture, a nice 30¼-inch walleye,” said Hudson’s grandpa, Dan Hoskins of Baudette, Minn., who submitted the photo. “His dad said Hudson reeled in both monster fish and told his dad to get the net, and don't miss it!”
Spoken like a true fisherman.
