LAKE OF THE WOODS
Walleyes have been active on the Rainy River, through Four-Mile Bay and all the way to the Lighthouse Gap. Water clarity is good with most fish coming from 12 to 25 feet of water on jigs and minnows. The deeper water also has produced sturgeon. Walleye season on the Rainy River and other Minnesota-Ontario border waters is open through April 14.
DEVILS LAKE
Reports are hard to come by right now, but a few anglers reportedly have been catching fish in some of the coulees and ditches upstream in the basin. The big lake is mostly, if not completely, free of ice, and all of the ramps will be accessible this summer. Look for fishing to kick into high gear once the weather straightens out again. Anglers also should remember that new North Dakota fishing licenses are required as of Sunday.

Strong wind early this week was chewing up remaining ice on the big part of the lake. There may be some ice floating this weekend, but there's also a good chance it will be ice-free if the area receives any additional wind, rain or warm weather.
LAKE WINNIBIGOSHISH
There was ice being blown around the lake and piling up with the wind, but there wasn't a lot of it as of Tuesday morning. The entire lake could be ice-free by this weekend.
N.D. SPRING LIGHT GOOSE UPDATE
The major concentration of snow geese appears to be in the central portion of the state, according to the latest spring light goose update from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department. A few isolated flocks remain in southern North Dakota, the report said, but most of the birds have been holding in the Carrington, Maddock, Rugby and Devils Lake areas.
