Novotny signs at Duluth

Former North Dakota Class A high school girls state pole vault champion Kari Novotny of Grand Forks Central has signed a letter of intent to compete in college track and field at Minnesota-Duluth.

Former North Dakota Class A high school girls state pole vault champion Kari Novotny of Grand Forks Central has signed a letter of intent to compete in college track and field at Minnesota-Duluth.

Novotny won the pole vault state title as a junior in 2008. She was a runner-up at state this spring. She'll be joining a Duluth team that won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Confer-ence championship in 2009.
